1. Who owns AdventSource?
AdventSource is a non-profit organization under the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. We are operated by a Board of Directors that meets three times each year. AdventSource does not receive any funding from the Seventh-day Adventist Church for our operations. We operate from sales and revenue we receive by doing special services for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America.
2. What is the difference between AdventSource and the Adventist Book Center?
The major difference is that AdventSource sells books, videos and other materials that are for leaders in the local church. Most of what the ABC's sell is for every member to purchase. AdventSource is focused on serving lots of different leadership groups. Most of our customer groups are fairly small instead of the mass audience of the ABC.
3. Are you Seventh-day Adventist?
Yes! Our organization is part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America. When you talk to people at AdventSource you may be talking to someone that facilitates small groups, operates the audio/visual system, is a Kindergarten Sabbath School teacher or is involved in some other way.
4. Can I purchase your resources if my church is not in the North American Division?
Yes! We have local church leaders from around the world that are using leadership resources purchased from AdventSource. One of the easiest ways to purchase is using the secure order form on our web site.
5. Do you take orders on your web site?
Yes, you can order anything we have using the order form on this web site.
6. How safe is it to send my credit card number electronically?
We have taken special precautions to make sure that the transfer of all financial information is safe. Not only is the transmission secure but when we receive the information we transfer it from the web page to an order system that can not be accessed from outside. Then we delete your financial information from the program that transferred the order to us. We believe that you will never have a problem with safety. If you do not want to send your credit card information electronically you can use our 800# and give the information verbally directly to one of our customer service representatives.
7. When I try to buy items the page asks me for a KEY CODE, what is this?
A Key Code is a set of numbers or letters that helps us learn more about what our customers need. When you receive something in the mail from AdventSource you will see the KEY CODE printed by your address.
You may also recieve a KEY CODE from us via email, on the web, or at a training seminar.
8. Why are you located in Lincoln -- not Silver Spring, Maryland with the church headquarters?
The idea of a central distribution point took into account the costs for renting or purchasing a building and wages of staff. Locating in the midwest made it less expensive to operate than on either coast.
9. How long have you been in business?
In 1982 NAYM (North America Youth Ministries) started in the basement of the old Christian Record building across the street from Union College.
10. How many people work at AdventSource?
We have 12 full time staff and 10-12 part time staff.
11. Why don't my resources appear in the shopping cart?
All of our resources have a six digit catalog number. Please make sure that you enter all six digits when manually searching for or entering an item in the catalog shopping cart, even if the first number or first two numbers are zero.
12. Where is AdventSource located?
Our warehouse and phone operators are located in Lincoln, Nebraska in the United States of America.
