Adriana Perera: Andrews University Music & Worship Conference (Friday)

Description

Adriana Perera is currently an Associate Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Oakwood University, Alabama. She is a prolific composer, songwriter, pianist, choir conductor and recording artist. Adriana has been a Music and Worship professor at Seminario Adventista de Sagunto, Spain, and at Oakwood University. As lecturer on Music and Worship, she has toured Europe, Latin America and the United States, giving conferences and workshops on the topic. Some of her sacred pieces are included in Bienvenidos a adorar, the Adventist Hymnal Book for the Spaniard Conference, and in Louvor e Adoraçao, the Portuguese Youth Hymnal. Mrs. Perera is the main editor and co-author for En Espíritu y en Verdad, a book on Music and Worship released by Pacific Press Publishing Association in 2013. Because she believes that "the Father is looking for those who will worship him in spirit and in truth," she strives to find relevant contemporary music formulas that convey God's message. She is married to Francisco Burgos. They have two children: Laia, who plays violin, and Marcos, who plays percussion.
