Pathfinder Honor Camp 2023

Date & Location: July 16-21, 2023. Camp Arrowhead, 75352 Road 431, Lexington, NE 68850.

Description: A summer camp to help start and strengthen Pathfinder Clubs in churches of the Kansas-Nebraska Conference of Seventh-day Adventists by providing the experience of honor classes that can be earned in one week, and training classes for adult staff.

Prescription Medication: Please put the instructions along with the meds in a Ziplock bag and give them to the camp nurse when you check into camp.

Sterling Volunteer: Sterling Volunterr is a requirement offered by the Kansas-Nebraska Conference at no cost. It screens all adults from people who have hurt or abused children including sexual abuse. It is a requirement for all adults who work with children in a Seventh-day Adventist setting to pass the training module and complete a background check. For additional details about Sterling Volunteers, please contact your local pastor to ask how your adult club members can take this requirement online prior to the Pathfinder Honor Camp. Every club is responsible for all adults of their own club or church completing the Sterling Volunteer requirement. 

Who Should Attend: All Kansas-Nebraska Pathfinder leaders and staff, and Pathfinders (10-17) should plan to attend.

Registration Fees: The registration fee is per person. Please plan to register early with AdventSource since no registrations will be taken on-site.

Camping Trailer Site Only Registration: Attendees staying in each trailer must still register as an Adult/Pathfinder (10+) attendee.

Swimming Honors Class: If the swimming honors classes are full, and you would like to be put on a "wait list" please call Martha Hornung (402) 202-1911 or Laurel McClelland (402) 770-8799.

To Guarantee Your Place: Please register as soon as possible. You may register online or call AdventSource (800) 732-7587. AdventSource will process registrations for this event through July 12, 2022.

Paying by check? Please complete each online registration page with your personal information and registration details. You will be prompted to create an AdventSource account if you do not already have one. If you need to register another person simply click on "add a person" to complete their registration. 2) Please mail the completed registration page with your check or money order, paying the exact registration fee, made payable to AdventSource to the address listed below. No partial event registration payments will be accepted. 3) In order to receive a discounted rate your payment envelope must be postmarked with the date that rate ends.

Special Note: Failure to provide the completed registration page with your contact telephone number will delay the processing of your event registration. If AdventSource is not able to get complete information within three business days of receipt, your registration check or money order will be returned.

Mail-in Registrations: All registrations sent by mail must be received by noon Tuesday, July 12, 2023.

 

Refund Policy: No refunds will be granted for this event. You may substitute another Pathfinder or staff member to attend the Honors Camp through July 12, 2023.

Lodging: Camp Arrowhead cabins are provided for Pathfinders and Adult Staff of the same gender only. Children ages (0-9) will not be allowed to sleep in the cabins. All cabins are air conditioned. The girls cabins has a restroom inside. The boys cabins have a restroom in a building outside. The bath-house is a separate building. Each attendee must bring their sleeping bag or bedding, pillow, towels, and toiletries. Cabins will be assigned by event staff.

Tent Camping: You may register under the Tent (Adult/Pathfinder (10+) Attendee fee. Clubs may pitch their own tents. Adults of the same gender may sleep in the tents with children (0-9).

Camping Trailers: There are six camping trailer locations with electric hook-ups on a first reserve basis. There is also a dumping station on the camp ground. Adults of the same gender may sleep in camping trailers with children (0-9).

Hotels: There are hotels in the city of Lexington only four miles away from Camp Arrowhead. 


Meals: You will receive supper on Sunday, July 16, 2023, with breakfast, lunch and supper Monday, July 17, 2023 through Thursday, July 20, 2023, and breakfast on Friday, July 21, 2023. All meals will be served with vegetarian options, vegan options will be available. Breakfast and supper will be served at Camp Arrowhead, lunch will be served at the Lexington Middle School Cafeteria.

Food Allergies/Restrictions: If your child has food allergies, or any restrictions, please indicate them in the health history when you register.

Ground Transportation: Pathfinders will be transported to camp by the Pathfinder directors, Pastor, and parents.

On-Site Event Check-in: July 16, 2023 from 12:00-1:00 pm. Please plan to register early with AdventSource since no registrations will be taken on-site.

Children: All Pathfinders 10 years old, or in 5th grade are invited to register and attend. You may register and bring children (1-9) and infants (0-1) at the fees listed on the registration fee page. You must provide your own lodging for children (0-9), either in a tent, or a camper.

Child Care Caretakers Honors Classes: Adult staff may trade off babysitting children ages (0-9) with fellow staff members from the same club in order to participate in honor classes they have registered for. The Pathfinder Honors Camp is not providing a "child care center," but there are two locations where babysitting is allowed: (1) Large cafeteria at the Lexington Middle School, where honor classes are held, and (2) Camp Arrowhead Lodge.
