Dinosaurs

  1. Make a booklet of at least 5 types of dinosaurs. Draw or find pictures and label them.
  2. Read Genesis chapter 1. Find the verse(s) that say God created all the animals and every living thing. Discuss how everything God created at the beginning was perfect and there wasn’t even death.
  3. How has sin affected all of nature in the world?
  4. Discuss how some dinosaurs seem scary. Make a list or find pictures of other animals seen today that seem scary.
  5. Who is a paleontologist and what is their work?
  6. Discuss and/or look at the pictures of the evidence of dinosaurs that have been found:
    a. Bones & teeth
    b. Fossilized skin impressions
    c. Coprolite (dinosaur poop)
    d. Footprints
  7. What does the word “extinction” mean?
  8. Why are so many creatures found buried and preserved in the fossil record? Read Genesis 7:20-23
  9. Play a game where kids act like a specific dinosaur and the other kids have to guess what kind of dinosaur they are pretending to be.

  1. Some of the most familiar dinosaurs include:Tyrannosaurus rex, Apatosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Velociraptor.
  2. God created all living things. There is no other being in the universe that has the power to create living things.
  3. Discuss how God’s perfect creation wasn’t perfect anymore because of sin. The punishment for sin brought death, disease, pain and suffering.
  4. Crocodiles, sharks, scorpions, snakes, bats, etc. Dinosaurs aren’t the only scary animals in the world.
  5. A scientist that studies fossils.
  6. Some people don’t think dinosaurs ever existed but there is a lot of evidence to show that these creatures did exist in the past.
  7. When there are no more living creatures of a species.
  8. The Flood of the Bible killed creatures all over the planet. During a flood some animals may die from drowning while others may be buried in the dirt layers and become fossils.
  9. Fun animals to imitate could be the same animals they were drawing earlier. Look up specific physical activity.
