Sent Ahead

Joseph was seventeen: favored, hated, sold, falsely accused, and forgotten. Then God made him the leader who saved the family that broke him.

Sent Ahead is a 21-day devotional for the adults who lead young people and for the young leaders rising behind them. Through Joseph’s story in Genesis 37–50, you’ll learn to see the stories beneath young people’s behavior, face the patterns you inherited, and lead from wounds that Jesus has healed rather than from wounds still open.

Inside you’ll find:

• Daily readings with Scripture, research on adolescent development and family systems, and practical leadership guidance

• A Breakthrough Step and prayer for every day

• A “For Young Leaders” section at the end of each Part

• A three-session group guide for leadership teams

• An eight-tool Leader’s Toolkit of worksheets and checklists, including a safeguarding checklist and a plan for responding when a young person discloses harm

Written with care for the people you lead, Sent Ahead will help you move from the pit to the family table and remember that you were sent ahead.
