The greatest need in the local church is spiritual leaders. The local church needs to have leaders who will lead in their homes, in their workplaces, in their communities, and in their churches. Sitting in seminars does not develop leaders. Leaders develop by rubbing shoulders with other leaders and being mentored by them. It is a pattern that we see throughout Scripture. We see Moses developing Joshua; Elijah developing Elisha; Barnabas mentoring Paul; and Paul pouring into Timothy. However, the greatest example of leadership development is Jesus developing His disciples. It is this model laid out by Jesus that Joshua’s Men seeks to emulate. It consists of three parts, which are articulated in Mark 3:14, 15: “He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons.”
He appointed or chose. He spent time with them. He sent them out. It is this process that has made Joshua’s Men successful in developing leaders in the local church. It is this process that has changed men’s lives, their families, their workplaces, and their local churches. This is the journey upon which you are embarking—to develop leaders to expand the kingdom of God for His honor.
Joshua’s Men is a year-long mentoring process which seeks to develop spiritual leaders who make a an impact for the kingdom of God in their homes, their churches and their communities. This is accomplished by meeting monthly for fellowship, instruction and mentoring. The Participant’s Guide contains the monthly lessons for the men to fill in as the lesson is taught.
